Walt Disney India Pictures will make four new live-action movies

Disney India will make four new movies

After Reliance managed to rope in Dreamworks Pictures chief and movie mogul Steven Spielberg, Disney has pulled a magical feat to amalgamate Bollywood and Hollywood.
Walt Disney Pictures India, the local banner of The Walt Disney Company is planning as many as FOUR live-action features.

The first film is named "The 19th Step". The film revolves around the ancient Indian martial arts form Kalarippayattu. A multilingual Indian release, '19th Step' stars South Indian superstars Kamal Hassan and Asin in the lead roles. Japanese star Asano Tadanabo also joins the cast. The movie will be directed by Bharat Bala, a prominent music video director of Bollywood.

The second film, "Zokkomon," is a children's tale starring Darsheel Safari, who won accolades last year for the delicious "Taare Zameen Par". Satyajit Bhatkal is directing "Zokkomon."

The two other Walt Disney Pictures India features are in development and names have not been finalised. As for the budget, your guess is as good as ours.
Disney reached the shores of India last year with an exclusive three-picture deal to co-produce animated movies with Yash Raj Films.

The first of these films, "Roadside Romeo" releases on October 24th. "Roadside Romeo" boasts the talents of Bollywood biggies Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, along with Jaaved Jaffery.
